Welcome

I was remembering the time (before I owned an itouch) when I set my personal CD player up to a certain song and said casually to my friend, "Hey, check this out." She listened to it and enjoyed it. When I told her the singer was Lindsay Lohan she felt duped and groaned. And wanted me to "trick" another friend.
This is how I feel people are treating Justin Bieber. Not giving him a chance and just pre-disposing themselves to not liking him. Perhaps they dismiss him because his fans are mostly screaming pre-teens or simply because he is extremely popular and they feel an ego boost thinking of themselves as indies or whatever. There are those who today, claim "he sounds like a girl." Perhaps he used to on his first CD. But so what? Didn't Michael Jackson? And Justin was 15 when his first CD came out. And really, you know he is a he, so hating him because he "sounds like a girl" is more about you and your gender issues or sexism than about his music.
It's like people who hate roses because they have thorns. But have they ever smelled a rose?
I honestly didn't think I would like Justin Bieber either. I didn't much care for his Baby song, but to be fair, I had not listened to it in its entirety. But I checked out his Somebody To Love video and slowly got hooked. I am now a fan. A Belieber. And the more I read about him, the more I like him. He seems like a nice kid, down-to-earth and humble and appreciative and generous. Sure some photos don't reveal much and I don't know why they get published. They certainly aren't attractive. But they do show his goofy youthness. Because he is a kid.
There have always been, and there always will be haters. It will be interesting to look at each popular singer that receives the same amount of hate and try to find a common denominator. But Justin actually loves haters. He was photographed wearing an I heart Haters hat at a McDonald's following a concert he gave. He's even clicked Like on facebook hate comments. Perhaps because he finds it humourous how they are usually atrocious spellers. I mean you claim to hate Justin Bieber, but spell his name BEABIER? That truly shows you know nothing about him. The most common hate on him or anyone who is male for that matter is "gay" and gay references. If you think that haters can't come up with anything more original, well sadly they can and I will not repeat such vile filth here and give them the satisfaction of attention.
Because isn't that what this is all about? Haters feel better about themselves by hating on someone who has achieved success and fame as I feel better about myself by criticizing haters. And/or it's all about the music. Which is a personal choice with no rhyme or reason. Just a fancy for a beat?
Personally, I find Justin's positiveness light and refreshing and joyful. At the moment the only thing I could possibly critique is the common thread of buying love. But really, the desire to buy someone you like something is natural isn't it? When you imagine winning the lotto, you think of what you can do to help others or what you could buy to impress that person you like.
That's all for tonight, but I will close with saying that yesterday, I made a positive comment on Justin's facebook post about an article. And Justin Liked my comment. And at that exact moment, it stopped raining and the sun came out. Literally. And also interestingly just like his lyrics in Somebody To Love:
Everyday I bring the sun around,
I sweep away the clouds.

Epic. Godlike.
